The International Personal Injury team at Irwin Mitchell has been instructed to act on behalf of a family of British holidaymakers who became ill whilst staying at the Sentido Lanzarote Aequora in August 2015.

Our clients became ill with symptoms including diarrhoea and stomach cramps whilst on their holiday.

Despite some positive reviews, the family has highlighted concerns regarding the hygiene standards at the hotel. They have reported that there were power cuts during their stay and there was also a lack of running water. On one occasion during a power cut the family told us that they were served chicken which was raw in the middle alongside some hard potatoes.

The guests also expressed that due to a power cut, a child fell in the hotel swimming pool at night due to poor lighting.

Other holidaymakers have said that some of the food served in the buffet restaurant was repetitive and of poor quality. Birds and flies were also seen landing on food served from the hotel’s snack bars, which was also noted to be left outside for long periods of time. Furthermore, there are further reports regarding holidaymakers falling ill at the hotel.
