Anantara Resort, Maldives
Irwin Mitchell has recently received alarming reports of guests falling ill with gastric symptoms whilst holidaying at Anantara Resort, Maldives.
It has been reported that the food at the resort was of poor quality with the food being served cold and left uncovered for long periods of time without the food being renewed. Guests also reported that the food seemed to be served up on more than one occasion and also noticed that the cutlery was not washed sufficiently.
Further reports suggest that guests suffered with symptoms of diarrhoea, abdominal pain and vomiting. Due to the gastric symptoms, the guests were confined to their rooms which ruined their holiday.
It is possible that that the illness contracted by guests is a result of a breakdown in food handling and hygiene procedures.
