Cavalieri Art Hotel

Specialist travel lawyers at Irwin Mitchell are concerned to learn of potential problems at the Cavalieri Art Hotel in Malta.

There have also been reports of an outbreak of gastric illness.

The BBC’s Holiday Hit Squad visited the hotel in an episode aired on BBC1 on 20 March 2014. One holidaymaker reported how the bathroom had four broken tiles and the shower curtain was filthy with black stains. The Holiday Hit Squad found that the walls were mouldy and the bed sheets were dirty.

Concerns were also raised in relation to the level of the chlorine in the indoor pool. A test confirmed that the level of chlorine was too high and not fit to be open to holidaymakers. There were also reports concerning the outdoor pool and it was noted to be filthy with slime, body fat and bacteria.

Despite positive results in the main restaurant, the pool snack bar raised further concerns when the temperature of refrigerated food was tested and noted to be too warm. There have also been reports of a significant amount of debris in the kitchen as well as cockroaches.

If you also travelled to this resort and have subsequently suffered from illness, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
