Illness At The Euro Club Hotel, Qawra
The International Personal Injury team at Irwin Mitchell have been contacted by a British family who stayed at the Euro Club Hotel in Qawra in Malta on an all inclusive basis in August 2014. Two members of the family suffered illness on holiday, including symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps.
The holidaymakers reported that on occasions some of the food was not very hot, some food appeared recycled and cold food such as salad was not properly chilled. The shower in their hotel room had black mould around the edge of the tile area and the area around the taps was also dirty. The family also noticed a visible scum on the surface of the swimming pool on the last day of their stay at the hotel. Whilst at the hotel they raised their concerns with the staff at the hotel before paying to re-locate to an alternative hotel after just four days.
Despite positive reviews others who have stayed at the hotel have described some of the food as “poor” and felt that the hotel was in a poor state of repair, with one holidaymaker complaining about a dirty floor, shower room and mattress in their hotel room.
