We're concerned to learn about guests falling ill with gastric symptoms while on holiday at the BlueBay Grand Esmeralda hotel in Mexico between May and August 2016.

Despite positive reviews of the hotel online, our International Personal Injury team is also aware that some holidaymakers fell ill during their stay there. One holidaymaker claims that they were on one occasion served “discoloured undercooked scallops” whilst another claims that a waiter “threw a large piece of steak” at a pack of racoons that were roaming the area.

Another guest cites hygiene issues as the cause of illness claiming that the staff “simply rinse and refill” cups. Other holidaymakers report falling ill with gastric symptoms.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools.
