GR Caribe, 2016

Our International Personal Injury team has become aware of reports on various travel review sites relating to some guests at the GR Caribe by Solaris Hotel in Mexico becoming ill during their stay there in March 2016.

Despite some positive reviews, other tourists have complained of suffering from gastric symptoms while on holiday at the hotel.

One couple’s honeymoon was ruined after one of them fell ill with symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting.

Another holiday maker expressed concern about the food, after they witnessed two chefs handling both raw and cooked meat without washing their hands in between.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. We know that the effects of gastric illness can lead to long term complications, such as Post infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you have travelled to the GR Caribe by Solaris Hotel in Mexico and subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness or sustained an injury, we'd like to hear from you. We specialise in dealing with cases of such nature and have helped hundreds of people recover compensation for holidays ruined by sickness.

For more advice on making a holiday illness claim, contact us on 0800 056 0066 or complete our enquiry form and we will call you back.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
