Hard Rock Hotel, Cancun

Irwin Mitchell’s specialist International Personal Injury lawyers have been contacted by a holidaymaker who suffered gastrointestinal illness after staying at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana in Mexico, between June and July 2017.

The holidaymaker travelled to the Hard Rock Hotel to celebrate a birthday, but they reported concerning levels of food hygiene, including undercooked food. Chicken was sometimes cold and pink inside, and a sausage was reportedly cold in the middle. They also told us that often the cold food did not appear to have been chilled properly, and some foods were served uncovered. The guest noticed that sometimes food that appeared at one serving would reappear on more than occasion, and that at times there were flies in or around the food in the hotel restaurant. They were also alarmed to notice faeces in the hotel pool.
