The International Personal Injury Team at Irwin Mitchell have been instructed by a holidaymaker who became ill with gastric symptoms following their stay at the Iberostar Cancun in Mexico.
Despite positive reviews, Irwin Mitchell have learnt of reports regarding holidaymakers who fell ill following a stay at the hotel. Holidaymakers claim that some of the food was “a bit cold at times” whilst another claims that although there was antibacterial gel on occasion the “staff weren’t telling people to use it” and it didn’t appear to be monitored. Other holidaymakers including those that have instructed Irwin Mitchell claim to have contracted a gastric illness including diarrhoea and vomiting.
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in the stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness we know first-hand the potential long term effects that can be associated with such illness, with sometimes permanent long term complications arising such as Post infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
