Irwin Mitchell acted for a couple who travelled to the Moon Palace Gold and Spa resort Hotel in Mexico 2015 on an all-inclusive basis.
Not long after arriving at the hotel, the couple were struck down by serious gastric illness. The couple suffered from a range of symptoms including severe diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, lethargy and fatigue, headaches and fever.
Despite a number of positive reviews, the couple had concerns about the food being served in the hotel. They reported that on occasions meat was raw inside, food was sometimes served at incorrect temperatures and sometimes it was left uncovered for long periods of time.
The holidaymakers also report that on a couple of occasions they saw insects on some of the food and that they saw cats roaming around the restaurant area.
They've returned from their holiday but are continuing to suffer from diarrhoea and have since contacted their GP for advice.
