Ocean Coral & Turquesa, 2016

We’re worried about visitors to the Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Mexico, after hearing reports of illness among guests who stayed there in January 2016. 

One tourist who was on holiday with friends reports suffering from both vomiting and diarrhoea, and says that five of the group fell ill in total. Another holidaymaker reports how both he and his wife fell ill during their stay there around the same time.

The hotel has also enjoyed positive reviews, however it’s not just the reports above that reflect badly on the hygiene standards at the resort. Other tourists complained of the food being “inadequate”, while another guest said they watched the cook “drop an entrée onto the floor and pick it back up into the oven to serve another couple”. Other holidaymakers report falling ill with gastric symptoms.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. We have significant experience helping those unlucky enough to contract gastric illness while on holiday.
