Specialist international personal injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have been instructed by a family following their stay at the Ocean Mayor Royale in Mexico in May 2015.
The party of four travelled to the hotel in Mexico to celebrate a wedding anniversary; however illness stuck a few days into their holiday. Some of the party suffered with symptoms including diarrhoea, severe abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting.
The holidaymakers have reported that some of the food in the hotel restaurant was undercooked and left uncovered for long periods of time. The guests also complained that animals were present in the restaurant area, with birds and racoons seen wandering around. Additionally, it was reported that the water in the swimming pool was cloudy and there was algae growth in the pool.
Jatinder Paul, at Irwin Mitchell, said: “This was supposed to be a special holiday for this family, instead, it was spoiled by illness.
“We will now be conducting our own investigations as to the cause of our clients’ illnesses and we would encourage the Hotel management to take similar steps.”
