Irwin Mitchell has learnt that a number of holidaymakers staying at the Grand Sirenis Resort in Mexico are returning from their holidays complaining of severe gastric illness once again.
Most recent reports of illness are from March 2012, however, we are acting for clients who holidayed at the Grand Sirenis Resort in February 2011 who also fell ill with severe gastric symptoms, allegedly as a result of the poor standards of food hygiene at the resort. We have represented hundreds of holidaymakers staying at various resorts in Mexico who have suffered similar symptoms of illness following disastrous stays at hotels in Mexico.
It is alarming to learn that such problems are continuing at the resort, with recent reports suggesting that holidaymakers have suffered with symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting as a result of a breakdown in food hygiene procedures.
Further reports suggest that the food was served undercooked and recycled food was displayed uncovered for long periods of time. Reports indicate that the cause of the gastric illnesses may have been due to the poor quality of food and lack of hygiene standards practised at the resort.
