Opera Plaza Hotel

Irwin Mitchell has been contacted by holidaymakers who have suffered illness during their stay at the Opera Plaza Hotel, Marrakech, Morocco during a holiday tour taken in October 2014. The guests started experiencing from diarrhoea and nausea and sought medical treatment on their return home. There were concerns around some of the hygiene standards surrounding food preparation within the hotel.

Despite some positive reports, a holidaymaker who stayed at the hotel this year described some of the food at the hotel as “very basic and limited” and that at breakfast the scrambled egg was “usually just warm”, whilst another holidaymaker described the eggs as “absolutely revolting”. Some holidaymakers also cited concerns about the air conditioning units within their room, describing them as “a bit smelly”.
