Riad Choafa, Marrakech, 2015

The International Personal Injury team at Irwin Mitchell has been instructed to act on behalf of a family of British holidaymakers who became ill whilst staying at the Riad Choafa in Marrakech, Morocco, during September 2015.

The family all suffered from symptoms including diarrhoea, stomach cramps and vomiting and had to purchase medication from a local pharmacy to ease the symptoms. They continue to suffer from the illness upon their return to the UK and are seeking medical treatment.

Despite positive reviews, the family noticed that some of the food served at breakfast time was left out for long periods of time without refrigeration. They also realised that some of the furniture was broken and one holidaymaker experienced splinters after using a chair.

Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness, we know first-hand the potential long term effects that can be associated with such illness. We will be investigating the cause of illness on behalf of those holidaymakers who have contacted us and hope the tour operator will work with us to establish why guests fell ill.

If you also travelled to the Riad Coafa in Marrakech and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
