Family Life, Mar De Menorca 2016
Irwin Mitchell have been contacted by a British family who traveled to the Family Life, Mar De Menorca in Menorca on an all inclusive basis in September 2016.
The family returned to the UK early after their son became ill with loss of appetite, blisters and a rash. On return home they sought advice from their GP and were advised that the symptoms were caused by an aggressive form of hand, food and mouth disease.
Other holidaymakers who stayed in September have reported over 20 families suffering from similar symptoms and holidaymakers have complained that they were not warned about illness affecting some holidaymakers before they traveled.
Despite some positive reviews some holidaymakers noticed that some of the food served was lukewarm and some of the high chairs in the hotel restaurant were not very clean. Some holidaymakers also noticed scum around the edge of the swimming pool on occasions.
Hand, foot and mouth disease is most common in young children and the symptoms can include a high temperature, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, a sore throat & mouth, mouth ulcers, and spots on the hands and feet.
