Gran Oasis Resort, Tenerife, 2013

Irwin Mitchell has been contacted by a holidaymaker who suffered illness following their stay at the Gran Oasis Resort, in Tenerife, in May 2013. The guest reported suffering with symptoms of illness including diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain, loss of appetite and lethargy.

The holidaymaker was unimpressed with a number of factors concerning the hotel. The tourist reported that birds and cats would sometimes enter the restaurant area, a lot of the food was not covered and said that the cutlery, crockery, table linen and glasses were sometimes dirty. On some occasions, food was described as not being served at the correct temperature, for example some of the cold foods were not appropriately chilled. The holidaymaker was also concerned to notice a drainage smell in parts of the hotel.
