H Top Gran Casino Royal, Costa Brava, Spain – October 2011

Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn of holidaymakers falling ill at the H Top Gran Casino Royal, Costa Brava in  Spain during holidays taken in October 2011. Recent reports have suggested that the hotel needs to be “pulled down to the ground a.s.a.p before someone is seriously injured.”
Holidaymakers have reported that the hotel was filthy and that floor tiles were cracked and loose, the bathroom was mouldy and damp, there were hairs on and around the bathroom suite, urine seeped out through the overflow, the balcony was covered in bird droppings along with tomato sauce and bits of food.
It has also been suggested that the food served at the resort was also of a low standard and which was very repetitive. The breakfast cereal was compared to cardboard and other food served by the hotel was suggested to be stale. It is therefore possible that the illness amongst holidaymakers may be due to a lack of food hygiene and a general lack in cleanliness and maintenance at the hotel.
