Our specialist International Personal Injury team has been contacted by a family following their stay at the Hotel Rosamar, Spain in May 2016.

The holidaymakers travelled to the Spanish resort to enjoy a family holiday - however, during their stay they all began to experience symptoms of gastric illness. One of the children was so ill he had to be rushed to the local hospital. Some of the family are still suffering with symptoms of gastric illness following their return home.

The holidaymakers reported that they noticed that the food within the resort was often left uncovered and seemed to be of poor quality which gave them cause for concern.

Gastric illness can cause sickness and nausea, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. In severe cases it can develop into long term complications, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Poor quality food hygiene standards leave tourists at greater risk of infection.
