La Siesta Hotel, Tenerife, Spain
The International Travel Litigation team at Irwin Mitchell, which specialises in cases of food poisoning in the UK and abroad, has been contacted by British holidaymakers after their return from a holiday to the La Siesta Hotel in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, Spain.
After staying at the Hotel during a holiday booked through a UK Tour Operator became ill with symptoms which included diarrhoea and sickness which has later been diagnosed as Campylobacter.
Campylobacter is a bacterial illness causes symptoms of abdominal pain, profuse diarrhoea, malaise and can be caused by the consumption of undercooked meat, especially poultry and unpasteurised milk.
It is possible that the illnesses experienced by holidaymakers were due to a breakdown in food handling and food hygiene procedures, as well as a failure to prevent and maintain the spread of illness amongst holidaymakers.
If you have suffered from gastric illness following your stay at La Siesta in Spain, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim for the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
For more advice on making an illness claim, contact Irwin Mitchell on 0800 056 0066 or complete our enquiry form and we will call you back.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
