Illness at Hotel Saadia, Monastir, Tunisia

A honeymoon couple have had to cut short their honeymoon at the Hotel Saadia, Monastir, Tunisia in September 2009, due to suffering with severe diarrhoea and sickness. It is reported that on return to the Uk, the honeymooners were diagnosed as having contracted Salmonella food poisoning.

Guests have reported that there were poor food quality controls at the hotel which they believe may have resulted in a breakdown of health and hygiene conditions. In particular, food was left uncovered, new food was added to existing food, and also, food appeared to be reserved. 

Irwin Mitchell have been contacted by the honeymoon couple who state that they spoke with other guests who had stayed at the hotel on a yearly basis and were affected by illness on each occasion. Irwin Mitchell believes that many other guests could have been affected by illness during their stay in September 2009.
