Sahara Beach Hotel

Irwin Mitchell has been instructed by holidaymakers who have suffered illness during an all-inclusive holiday at the Sahara Beach Hotel in Skanes, Tunisia during a holiday taken in June and July 2014. The holidays were booked with Thomas Cook.  

Some of the holidaymakers suffered a very unpleasant gastric illness. One had confirmed salmonella following a stool sample taken upon his return to the UK. The whole holiday was severely disrupted, including a holidaymaker's birthday being spoilt due to illness. 

The holidaymakers say the restaurant was dirty on occasions and that there were flies over some of the uncovered food. They also say that some of the food was clearly uncooked, some food was served on more than one occasion and on occasions that new food was brought out and put onto old food.

Despite some positive reports, a holidaymaker who stayed at the hotel earlier this year described the hotel as “Sa’horror” and another stated that “there was a bad stomach bug going around” and the food being described as “terrible”.
