The International Personal Injury team at Irwin Mitchell have been instructed on behalf of a British family after a holidaymaker suffered from illness during their holiday at the Skanes Family Resort, Tunisia, in May 2015.
The family were enjoying their all-inclusive holiday when one of them starting suffering from symptoms including diarrhoea and stomach cramps. They had to call an emergency doctor out for treatment and on their return to the UK, the holidaymaker was diagnosed with a Campylobacter infection.
Irwin Mitchell also represent other holidaymakers who travelled to the hotel in 2013 and 2014, a number of whom suffered from similar symptoms which in some cases were diagnosed as being caused by Cryptosporidium or Campylobacter infections.
Despite some positive reviews, the family who recently returned from their holiday reported that some of the food in the hotel restaurant often looked as though it had been out for long periods of time. In addition some hot food was served uncovered and on one occasion, chicken was served pink in the middle.
Other guests have said that flies were seen around the food and cats were present in the restaurant. Further reports have said that staff at the hotel were rude and unhelpful, and on at least one occasion it has been previously reported that the toilets near the main pool flooded.
