Aqua Fantasy Hotel & Spa, Turkey 2013

Irwin Mitchell’s leading International Travel Litigation Group has received reports that holidaymakers staying at the Aqua Fantasy Hotel & Spa in Izmir Turkey on an all inclusive holiday have returned from their holidays in August 2013 complaining of illness including symptoms of diarrhoea and stomach cramps.

Despite some positive reports, recent reports from guests who stayed at the hotel in August suggest that some holidaymakers have suffered from illness following their stay at the hotel with some holidaymakers still suffering from symptoms on return from their holiday.
One family have reported that they had become so ill at the hotel that they had to be hospitalised during their stay at the all inclusive hotel. There are also reports of people being taken to the local hospital by mini bus to be treated.
Some holidaymakers have reported that some of the food at the hotel was left uncovered for long periods of time, some of the food was not piping hot. One holidaymaker described the quality of the evening meal as “terrible”. There has also been various other complaints made in relation to the tour representatives who were reported to have been denying any sort of illness was affecting guests at the hotel, even though a number different families are reported to have complained about stomach cramps and diarrhoea. Some guests were not happy with the conditions in their hotel rooms and complained of bed sheets not being changed and one holidaymaker noticed mould around the edge of their bath.
Irwin Mitchell has successfully recovered compensation for a number of holidaymakers who previously fell ill at the Aqua Fantasy Hotel in 2009 and were diagnosed with illnesses including Salmonella and Cryptosporidium.
