Over 80 tourists hospitalised in Bodrum, Turkey

The International Travel Litigation Team at Irwin Mitchell, which specialises in cases of food poisoning in the UK and abroad, is concerned for tourists in the seaside city of Bodrum in Turkey.

It has been reported that some 83 tourists had been hospitalised on Wednesday evening due to an outbreak of food poisoning.  A provincial health director has reported that tourists have been diagnosed with symptoms such as nausea and severe stomach aches.

Although the source of the outbreak has not yet been identified, we are concerned about the possibility that tourists suffered illness due to a breakdown in food handling and food hygiene procedures.

Officials from the Food, Agriculture and Animal Breeding ministry are reportedly taking samples of the food and drinks that the tourists may have consumed.  It is also reported that they are currently conducting an investigation at the hotel were the tourists were staying.

If you have suffered from gastric illness in Bodrum, Turkey, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim for the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
