Marmaris Palace Hotel

Travel law experts at Irwin Mitchell have been approached by holidaymakers who returned from their stay at the Marmaris Palace Hotel in Turkey with symptoms of gastric illness.

A family of seven travelled to the hotel in June 2014 whereby a number became unwell with diarrhoea, severe stomach cramps, fever, lethargy and nausea. A member of the family has since been diagnosed as having Salmonella. Infections such as Salmonella can leave permanent symptoms including an alteration of bowel habit, stomach pains and irritable bowel syndrome.

Despite some positive reviews, Holidaymakers report that some of the food was served undercooked.  On occasion omelettes were said to have been not cooked properly and scrambled eggs were on occasion said to have been served runny. Some of the food was said to have not been replaced properly in that new food was added on top of and mixed with existing food.  On occasion the plates and cutlery were not clean and had bits of food stuck to them. The table linen in the restaurant was said to have been dirty and appeared to have been flipped over instead of the linen being replaced.
