Bretton Water Park, Peterborough

Lawyers at Irwin Mitchell are concerned to read reports that over 50 children have fallen ill with symptoms of fever, vomiting and diarrhoea after visiting Bretton Water Park in Peterborough.

Investigations into the cause of the illnesses are continuing with a spokeswoman for Peterborough City Council commenting ‘It is too early to say exactly what could have caused this bout of sickness. Our environmental health officers are working closely with our colleagues at Enterprise Peterborough to investigate.’

‘As soon as we received information we acted swiftly to close the park so that tests can be carried out on the water.

‘We have checked maintenance and cleaning records for the facility and can confirm that they are all up to date.

‘It is our priority to understand what caused this problem and we will endeavour to re-open the park as soon as this has been addressed.

‘Given the hot weather we are keen to have the park open for the public to enjoy at the earliest possible date, however we must emphasise that the public health and safety is our main priority.’

If you visited this water park and suffered from illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim for the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
