Irwin Mitchell’s leading travel litigation team have been instructed to act for a number of holidaymakers staying at the Butlins resort in Skegness. The reports indicate that the guests have returned from their breaks at the resort complaining of severe gastric illnesses and numerous reports on the Trip Advisor consumer website echo these reports of serious health and hygiene failings.
Most recent reports of illness are from June 2012, however, we currently act for over 250 clients who holidayed at the Butlins resorts in Bognor Regis and Minehead in the summer of 2011 who fell ill with similar gastric symptoms.

Reports indicate that holidaymakers discovered faeces on the carpet in their room. Further reports suggest that the resort was covered in ants and there was also a drain which was overflowing with sewage. The holidaymakers have also reported that food was served undercooked and lukewarm.
Guests claim to have suffered from violent diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps which may have been due to the poor quality of food and lack of hygiene standards practised at the resort.
