Illness outbreaks in United Arab Emirates
The UAE consists of seven states, termed emirates, which are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah. Dubai is the most populous emirate of the seven emirates of United Arab Emirates and tourism is an important part of the economy. Dubai's lure for tourists is based mainly on shopping, but also on its possession of other ancient and modern attractions.
As tourism increases in this region, it is unfortunately inevitable that we will also see a rise in holidays that have been ruined by illness, often due to failures in food hygiene standards at their hotels.
