Woman Injures Shoulder After Fall In Eurotunnel Car Park

Irwin Mitchell is acting on behalf of a client who sustained injuries after falling at a car park in Calais.  Our client had travelled to France on the Eurotunnel and after spending the day in Calais returned back with her family to her car at the Eurotunnel car park.

Whilst walking, our client tripped on a bollard and fell to the floor and sustained an injury to her right shoulder.  Investigations showed that the paint on the bollard had worn off and so blended in with the tarmac in the car park, making it very difficult to see.

As a result of her injuries, our client was unable to work for an extended period of time and ceased working as a cleaner.  She underwent surgery to her shoulder five months after the incident and her life was further restricted as she suffered pain and mobility problems with her shoulder which in turn made every day tasks very difficult for her.

The owners of the Euro Tunnel car park denied responsibility for the client’s accident and a claim for compensation was pursued against them.  After reaching an agreement in respect of liability, we successfully obtained a five figure settlement for our client, which included a claim for loss of earnings as well as a claim to compensate her for the pain and suffering she has endured as a result of her injury.
