Young woman claims for dental injuries sustained at water park in Tenerife

Irwin Mitchell has been instructed by Miss Price who was injured in a water park whilst on holiday in Tenerife. Miss Price sustained severe dental injuries after being thrown in the air whilst using a waterslide.

On the 19 January 2010, Miss Price went to a water park in Tenerife.  One particular water ride involved sitting in an inflatable ring with two other individuals. The ring travelled down a large waterslide with tunnelled sections. As Miss Price descended the slide and travelled through a tunnelled section approximately half way through the ride, the ring Miss Price was seated in was thrown into the air. Despite Miss Price’s attempts to hold on, she was thrown out of the ring and thrown against the hard inner surface of the tunnel. .

Miss Price was thrown against the tunnel with such force that she broke two of her front teeth and badly damaged two others. She also sustained severe facial bruising. Miss Price was admitted to the local hospital where she spent three days and is continuing to receive treatment in the UK as a result of the incident.

After Irwin Mitchell sent a letter of claim to the water park, liability was accepted. The water park owners have offered to pay for Miss Price’s dental treatment and we are now in the process of obtaining evidence in order to quantify and settle Miss Price’s claim.
