Hotel Accident in Greece Secures £8,750

On 23 July 2009 our client was on holiday in Kos, Greece staying at the Portobello Beach Hotel.

During the holiday, our client had been sunbathing around the pool area and as she stood up from the sun bed she had been lying on, she stepped backwards with her right foot, which went straight through the drainage covers surrounding the pool.

When our client inspected the drainage channel, it appears that the drainage cover was unsupported in this particular area of the pool and a loose ceramic tile had been placed over a break in the drainage cover prior to the accident.

As a result of the incident, our client suffered from a nasty cut to her foot, extensive bruising to her leg and a jarring injury to her neck and lower back.

We submitted a letter of claim to the tour operator she booked the holiday with -First Choice Holiday's which resulted into detailed correspondence with their Solicitors. Despite failing to admit liability for the accident, we managed to successfully secure a settlement of £8,750 for our client's damages.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
