Barcelo Solymar Hotel

Holidaymakers who stayed at the Barcelo Solymar Hotel in August 2010 have contacted Irwin Mitchell to bring a claim against the holiday company TUI UK Limited, after falling ill with gastric illness.

The holidaymakers were looking forward to their holiday at the Barcelo Solymar Hotel. However, the holiday was ruined when all six members of the group, four of which were children, fell ill a few days into the holiday, suffering from symptoms of diarrhoea and stomach cramps a few days into the holiday.

Due their illness, the group could not take part in the fun activities they had initially planned such as exploring Cuba and taking part in excursions.

All six members of the group were still ill upon return home and continued to suffer from gastric symptoms.

Despite a number of positive reviews, the family had concerns about the food being served at the hotel. The family reported that some food was served undercooked and some food was not served hot enough. They also had concerns that the swimming pool water was discoloured, the air-conditioning in the hotel was broken and ants were in their hotel room.

TUI UK Limited has recently paid four figure sums in compensation to all six of the holidaymakers.
