Travel law experts at Irwin Mitchell have been approached by holidaymakers who returned from their stay at the Lindos Princess Beach Hotel in Greece with gastric illness.

A party of 22 holidaymakers travelled to the four-star hotel for a wedding in May 2014. Sadly a number of the party, including the best man, experienced symptoms of bloating, fever, fatigue, diarrhoea and vomiting. Illness at the hotel was said to be so prevalent that a doctor had to be outsourced as the hotel doctor was so busy treating people.

Holidaymakers noted that on occasion, some of the food was undercooked and not served at the correct temperature. Food was said to have been left uncovered for long periods of time. Holidaymakers report that some of the food appeared to have been served on more than one occasion. Pest control was also said to have been an issue with reports of cats wandering in the outside restaurant.

Amandeep Dhillon, a partner and expert travel lawyer at Irwin Mitchell, said: "Although there are some positive reviews of the hotel online, some holidaymakers have reported that stray cats and birds were allowed to roam the restaurants while on one occasion, holidaymakers have reported witnessing the hotel staff clean vomit off the floor with the use of napkins and without using disinfectant.

"Gastric illness such as diarrhoea and sickness can have a long lasting effect on holidaymakers and anyone who has suffered such problems at the Lindos Princess Beach Hotel in Greece should seek both medical and legal advice as soon as possible."
