Rodos Princess Hotel, Kiotari, Rhodes

Irwin Mitchell acted for a family of four who holidayed at the Rodos Princess Hotel on the Greek island of Rhodes in August 2003. The family noticed that the food was left out, uncovered, for long periods of time and was often undercooked.  As a result of such failures in food hygiene procedures at the hotel, 3 of the family fell ill within days of arriving at the hotel.  The parents were ill for 8 weeks and were confirmed as suffering salmonella food poisoning.  Their daughter was ill for only a few days and their son was fortunate enough to avoid illness.

Following settlement negotiations between tour operator Thomas Cook and Irwin Mitchell, the family were awarded total compensation of more than £6,300.  The tour operator also agreed to cover their legal costs.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
