Illness at the Riadh Palms Hotel Monastir, Tunisia

Whilst staying at the hotel, Mr Fowler became very ill with gastric symptoms of severe diarrhoea and stomach cramps.  He was ill for around 2 to 3 days and this did affect his enjoyment of his holiday. Mrs Fowler, fortunately did not fall ill but her holiday was also affected as she had to provide care and support for her husband.

Mr and Mrs Fowler complained that the food at the hotel was undercooked, the crockery and cutlery in the restaurant was dirty, and that the plumbing at the hotel was in a poor state of repair. 

A case was brought against the Tour Operator, Escape Holidays, who sold the package holiday to our clients and it was alleged that they had not complied with hygiene guidelines.

Negotiations in the matter have recently concluded and Mr and Mrs Fowler have accepted damages in settlement of their claim from the Tour Operator in the amount of £3,050.
