Road Traffic Accident in Ireland

Irwin Mitchell represented Mr Watkins from Stirlingshire in respect of injuries he sustained and associated disruption he suffered following a road traffic accident in Ireland where he was taking a short holiday break to attend a family wedding.

Mr Watkins had been travelling along a congested Dublin road in a slow moving stop/start queue of traffic. At one stage, after he had been stationary in the queue for several seconds, his car was hit from the rear by a third party who had failed to stop his much heavier vehicle in time.

As a result of the accident Mr Watkins sustained an injury to his neck as well as considerable disruption, inconvenience and financial losses.

Irwin Mitchell submitted an application to the Personal Injury Assessment Board in Ireland. Mr Watkins was subsequently awarded €9,000 for his injury and a further €2,000 for his financial losses, including travelling expenses, loss of enjoyment of his holiday and diminution in the value of his vehicle.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
