Claim For British Tourist After Road Traffic Accident In Switzerland
A British tourist was on holiday in Switzerland with a friend on 9th September 2007 riding as pillion passenger on his motorcycle. They were overtaking a queue of slow moving traffic when a vehicle ahead of them pulled out of the queue suddenly with the intention of turning left. The two vehicles were unable to avoid each other and a collision occurred. As a result of the accident, the Claimant was thrown from the motorcycle sustaining injuries to her right upper arm and both legs.
The Claimant was hospitalised in Switzerland and on her return to the UK underwent an extensive course of chiropractic treatment.
Irwin Mitchell were instructed in June 2008 and sought to pursue the claim in England in accordance with English law.
Following extensive negotiations between Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and the Defendant's insurers, in was agreed that English law would apply to this claim and settlement was agreed in January 2010 in the sum of £6300.00.
