Salmonella Food Poisoning On The Marco Polo Cruise Ship 2010

Irwin Mitchell Solicitors have successfully pursued a claim against Newmarket Holiday Promotions Limited for a couple who travelled on the Marco Polo Cruise Ship in 2010.

During the all inclusive cruise one of the couple fell ill.  She was subsequently diagnosed with salmonella food poisoning and required medical treatment upon return home.

Despite some positive reviews the couple advised  they had concerns in relation to some food being served undercooked or off. The couple described how the cruise did not compare to previous cruises they had been on.

Liability was denied throughout however Irwin Mitchell successfully negotiated a four figure sum for the couple.

The couple have commented, “we would like to say we couldn’t have been treated better, Irwin Mitchell kept us well informed all the time and made it clear they were always available if we had any worries. Their kindness has been very much appreciated and we would certainly recommend them to anyone we knew who needed help to make a claim. Thank you once again.”

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
